Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt
  • 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips (70% cacao)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on two sides for easy removal.
  2. In a large microwave-safe mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Whisk vigorously for 1-2 minutes until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and Greek yogurt to the butter mixture. Continue to whisk until the batter is pale and slightly frothy, which helps create the crackle top.
  4. Sift the cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, and sea salt directly into the wet ingredients.
  5. Using a silicone spatula, gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and fold in the chocolate chips. Stop as soon as no white streaks remain to avoid over-mixing.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Remove from the oven and allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan for at least 1 hour to let the fudge texture set before slicing.
